Peg Perego Stroller Skate
Bugaboo Chameleon or Peg Perego Skate?
I am expecting baby # 1 and am shopping for a baby stroller. I am torn between 2: the Bugaboo Chameleon and the Peg Perego Skate. I like that that you can use the Peg Perego infant seat (car seat) with the Skate, but it is a heavier stroller than the Bugaboo. Does anyone have either stroller? Do you like it? What are the pros and cons of each?
I have the Bugaboo.
Things I like about it:
- Every cloth item can go in the washing machine
- Bassinet is big
- You can have the baby facing you or away
- Very comfortable on the road
- Handbrake
What I don't like about it:
- Bit complicated to fold and set up
- Bulky. It takes up quite a bit of room in the house, but if you have the space this should not be a problem.
- Until you change it to the buggy, it's very hard to get things in and out of the basket underneath
- Quite low to the ground
- Extra's are extremely expensive (though you can get 'generic' extra's)
- Hard to attach stroller toys to it
I got it as a present from my parents and I picked it myself, but to be very honest: if I got to choose again now (my son is almost 5 months) I would probably go for a different kind of stroller. I'd pick one that's more compact and I guess.
I like the idea of the Peg Pergo with the car seat option. You will get a lot of use out of it when the baby is a newborn. Do pay attention though that it's a click on system (where the base stays in the car) otherwise you're messing around with seatbelts all the time and that's annoying and time consuming.
