Matrix Graco
I am thinking of purchasing Britax carseats for both my kids and would like some insight from...?
...people who already own one
They're a lot of money, so before I shell out a few hundred I want to know what people think of them. Also I'm curious how big they are. Are they bigger than a normal Graco carseat? I drive a Toyota Matrix so room isn't tight, but it isn't no SUV! I was planning on getting a Roundabout for my 5 Month old and a Monarch or Parkway for my 3 year old.
Thank you in advance!
I have two Britax seats. I was originally motivated to buy these after consumer reports gave these deats their highest rating. Afterwards, I learned that they are meet/exceed the european safety standard, which are more strict than those in the US and Canada.
I absolutely love these two seats. My daughter, who is not 4, uses the Marathon. We moved her into that when she was about 8 months (rear facing) and moved it to forward facing when she was about 2. It is good until she is 49 inches tall or 60 pounds. She is 41 inches now and far less than the 60 pounds, so we'll be using that one for a while.
My 2yo son uses the Roundabout. Again, he started using about 6 months rear facing and we turned it to forward facing a few days before he turned two.
The seats are installed into our Explorer and there is enough room to fit an adult in between them (though its a bit tricky getting said adult into the spot). Both kids have plenty of leg room allowing us parents in the front seat to have our seat in the most comfortable position for us.
The seat covers are removable and washable, which is nice. There hasn't been anything spilled on them yet that the washer hasn't been able to handle.
We are not the type of people who move the seats around alot. They may be installed in the Explorer for months without being removed. The Explorer is pre-LATCH. Using the "old" method of installing the seats gets a very good fit, with no relative movement between the car seat and the rest of the truck. On those occasions that we have to put the seats in my Taurus (which has the LATCH), the installation is even easier. In less than 5 minutes, I can have both seats installed and VERY secure in the Taurus.
I recommend these seats without hesitation.
