Graco Emery
Which baby swing should I get? (pics)?
I really like the AC adapter features but I also like the 2 in 1s.
Should I get an AC and buy a separate bouncer or buy the 2 in 1 with batteries?
My theme is a gender neutral green with rainforest or jungle animals but I don't mind not using that theme with the swing/bouncer. If I do end up buying a separate bouncer, which do you recommend?

My personal feelings. Don't buy a bouncer or swing until you can try them out on your baby. My daughter hated bouncers, loved swings. I know others who hate both, and some who love both. It can be a waste of money to buy one and then find out that it freaks the baby out rather than soothes them. :/
I also would recommend an AC adapter, since they usually have batteries you can use as well but the ability to plug it in is so much easier.
I can't tell from looking at the swings how far they recline. You want them to recline almost completely, so they're practically flat, for a baby under 6 months. This is due to the fact that babies under 6 months shouldn't be sitting up when they sleep, if they do then they can have difficulty breathing. They've recommended that babies not be in a sitting position (until older than 6 months) for more than 2 hours in a day, including car seats, bouncers, swings, strollers, etc. (baby carriers on your chest are not an issue though since the mother breathing against the baby seems to keep them breathing more often.) I've been looking at swings because the one we have doesn't recline well so the new baby will get a new swing, if he likes them.
And then there's the wide base. I've heard good things about the rainforest swings because of how far out the base goes, to stabilize the swing, so the baby is quite safe.
But since it only has 2 reclines, I'd really go to a store and try it out before buying it. You can try them all out at Babies R Us, and a lot of them are at Target as well, if your Wal-mart doesn't have a good display for you to try them out. (Some Wal-marts do, some don't.) But I'd really want to see and then judge.
But it's like... look at the pictures to this Papasan swing. See how the little guy has his chin against his chest? That's a bad breathing position and is a dangerous situation for a baby to be sleeping in. It has the same 2 point recline that the Rainforest one you were looking at has. So that would be a major negative for me. I want a full recline so they're basically laying flat on their back so if they fall asleep there's no problem letting them sleep there (with me nearby of course.)
