which BABY SWING is BEST CHOICE?
i am having to buy a new swing to replace a broken old one for my two 1/2 month old.
which swing is best?and will last longer? please give personal experiences or from friends and family.thank you. Fisher Price Rain Forest Open-top Cradle swing or

It depends.
If you haven't tried your baby on a swing, then don't get any of them. Some babies are afraid of swings, so you want to try it out before you invest in one.
Next for me is the recline feature. Babies under 3-6 months, especially preemies, should be kept from being at an incline due to their chin resting against their chest causing them to have less oxygen. :/ This can be dangerous, so they recommend only having them at an incline for 2 hours at the most, including bouncers, strollers, car seats and swings, and avoiding them if possible (though of course you use a car seat when driving in the car.) So, I look for a really good recline, if possible laying flat.
Then I look at the stability factor. We have dogs and cats, people walking around, so I want one with a wide base that is not easily knocked over.
Then for me is the energy source. Batteries are convenient but get expensive (and what if you run out and the baby is screaming and you want to put them in the swing but don't have batteries... ugh. You have to have an emergency stash all the time.) Plug ins are less expensive, but do give you a cord to have to work around. And wind up ones slow down as they run. So you have to weigh that out.
I found one at Toys R Us looking around for under $80 that met all my safety requirements oddly enough, it was just cheap and ugly but laid back really well, I was surprised. 
But really, unless I can stand there and look at it then I wouldn't buy it because of what I'm checking for.
As for those 2... the Graco Lovin' Hug lays back further than the Rainforest one, so I'd use that one over the rainforest one. Also the base is more secure than what they used with the Rainforest one.
