I need convertible car seat help?
my son is only ONE INCH away from the height maximum on his infant car seat. he's getting sooo big I have decided I want to get a Britax seat and I'm down to the Marathon or the Boulevard. I saw them both in the store today but I wanted too look at reviews and get some opinions. anyone have one or the other or tried both? the Boulevard is more expensive, but it's got a little more cushion and you can move the straps up and down with a wheel, without having to thread them in and out. the Marathon is cheaper though, and still very nice and it's pretty 'no muss, no fuss.'
any insight? any other suggestions for convertible car seats? I would like the seat to rear face at least until 35 lbs because I plan on RFing for at least two years. I have a medium sized car -- a dodge stratus.
also, I need something I can switch in and out of cars sort of easily.
any help at all would be great. thank you!!
I just bought the britax boulevard online at Target.com. It hasn't arrived yet (should be here Monday!) but they are on sale right now for $279. We had tried the boulevard in our car and it fits almost exactly like our Graco infant seat. We didn't have to adjust our front seats or anything. We also tried the First years True Fit (has great reviews) but it was a bit big and required some adjusting to our seats. I like the idea that the Boulevard has the extra cushioning and it is True Side Impact Tested and the Marathon I know is very safe as well but to me doesn't look as comfortable. We have been looking at car seats for months and finally chose the Boulevard. A good car seat is one that fits your baby, fits in your car, is easy to assemble (so it is done right) and is used correctly.
