Is the Bugaboo Really What it Promises to Be?
So what's all the fuzz about the Bugaboo Chameleon stroller, is it any good or just a celebrity hyped device used by the Hollywood stars?
It's meant to appeal to the active parent who wants to get around everywhere, whether it's the subway, tram, woods or beach.
Because of its light weight, but still stable, and the ability to use it everywhere. The seat and bassinet is reversible, so when the baby grows and wants to look around instead of facing mom and dad, it's easy to turn around in one grip. And, it really does have some very inventive features, and it's clear that the designers of this stroller are active parents themselves, who developed a stroller they would want to use as well. One thing that's never been seen on another stroller before its the ability to put the seat up and down vertically, so that the baby can sit at a table-high position and join you at the table in café for example, or just if you want to have a comfortable position when feeding your baby outside sitting on a bench or similar.
The non fixed wheels make the chameleon bugaboo stroller very easy to turn around in a small space, you don't have to push the handle down and get the front wheels up when turning, this is very handy, and after using a stroller like that it feels really uncomfortable to drive a stroller with fixed wheels.
The Bugaboo is supposed to be easy to walk with in any terrain. We tried; since it's light weight and the swivel like wheel makes it really easy to turn and walk within a busy environment, yeas, it was easy. We took it on the subway through the city in rush hour, and later on to the beach. It passed the test in all those environments.
Some other features we liked was that the carrycot is approved for use for overnight sleeping, a good thing if you are going to spend the night somewhere. The carrycot seat can be used as a seat on the floor or the ground as well. The handle bar is height adjustable, so it will fit both mom and dad. It takes up very little space when folded together, so it fits easily even in a small car.
So, what didn't we like, then? Well this was a really good stroller that we truly liked, but one thing that gave us a bit to think about was the price. About $750 is a lot of money for most people. But, looking at is as the investment it really is, it could certainly be worth while, you won't nedd to buy another on for as long you have babies in the house.
