I am want to purchase a new car seat for my 3.5 old son with 5 point harness. Any suggestions? Besides Britax.
I want to use the 5 point harness without using the car seat belt. My son is about 40 lbs. I know the Britax offers the use of the 5 point harness but wasn't looking to spend that much right now. Everything I see wants you to use the car seat belt once they hit a 40 lbs. Thanks for the help.
We bought Sunshine Kids Radian 80. We love it. And our son loves it, too. The only problem for you - it's even more expensive than Britax 
The cheapest I found (and actually bought) was $253 delivered from ebay. It is rated up to 80 pounds however, while Britax only up to 60 I believe. So you'll have a couple of years more to enjoy the safety of 5 point harness.
I did research on those seats when we were going to buy, and I'm pretty much sure you won't find any other seat that offers 5 point harness for this weight range.
