They continued to develop, both in England and in North America, over the ensuing centuries until the first version made with a frame of lightweight aluminum and that was foldable came onto the scene in 1965.
Since that time, strollers have evolved steadily, oftentimes including a great many features, made with safer components and available to go with a huge number of accessories. There are versions made for almost every circumstance, including high-tech units made to accommodate the needs of a parent who wishes to go jogging, for instance.
These travel systems, as those kinds of strollers are called, come with a detachable car seat that a baby can be carried around in and which can be securely held within a car or an aircraft seat. The chassis and frame have been purpose-built to break down quickly, fold up just as quickly and then stow away easily in a trunk or an aircraft cargo belly.
Most such travel systems are usually developed for babies from newborn to three years of age. After that, other travel systems feature specially-made toddler seats that can fit in an aircraft or car seat quite well. These days, it's a given that all these different versions of strollers are far more versatile and long-lasting than their ancestors from just 50 years or so ago.
When it comes to a baby stroller, buyers should keep versatility and cost in mind when beginning shopping for them. Budget-minded buyers can certainly find a number of good quality strollers that, in many cases, will work just as well as strollers and travel systems costing several hundred dollars or more, for a fact.
